LAND DONATION - City of Oxnard
future home of: Casa de Carmen & The Oxnard Navigation Center location: 241 West Second Street developer: Community Development Partners collaborative partners: Architecture Design Collaborative, City of Oxnard, County of Ventura, Housing Trust Fund Ventura County, Mercy House, Ventura County Behavioral Health, Walton Construction, and Housing Land Trust Ventura County. In April 2021, the City of Oxnard donated a 22,000 square foot parcel of land to Housing Land Trust Ventura County for the development of The Oxnard Navigation Center, which will provide 110 shelter beds and 24-hour supportive services for our community's homeless population. In addition, the development will provide 55 permanent housing units. In recognition of the late County Supervisor Carmen Ramirez, the property was renamed The Oxnard Navigation Center at Casa de Carmen. In July 2021, sister agency, Housing Trust Fund VC provided a $800,000 pre-development loan with groundbreaking taking place in December 2022. Move-in coming Spring 2024. LAND DONATION - City of Thousand Oaks
future home of: Hillcrest Homes Development location: 384 N. Erbes Road developer: People's Self-Help Housing collaborative partners: DiCecco Architecture, Housing Trust Fund Ventura County, McCarthy Companies, Ventura County Community Development Corp, and Housing Land Trust Ventura County. Formerly the site of Hillcrest Christian School, the City of Thousand Oaks acquired the land in 2021 and in early 2022 the City Council adopted a resolution declaring the site as exempt surplus land pursuant to the Surplus Lands Act. In November 2022, the land was donated to Housing Trust Fund VC, who received the land through its supporting nonprofit Housing Land Trust Ventura County. The Hillcrest Homes development will open up home ownership for the community’s low-income to moderate-income individuals and families with the development of nearly 80 affordable for-sale townhomes on 3.87 acres.
